Southern Indiana Waste Systems
37 West Fifth Street (812) 948-5356 - Phone
The management and employees of Southern Indiana Waste Systems (SIWS) wish to thank you, the citizens of New Albany, the City Council, the Board of Public Works and Mayor James Garner for allowing us the opportunity to provide waste disposal and removal services to the City of New Albany. The primary goal of SIWS is to help create a cleaner, healthier and safer New Albany by providing waste disposal services and improving the environment through quality services.
In our approach to the selection process and to becoming a partner with the City of New Albany, we were convinced that two key components would be vital to the achievement of our primary goal. First and foremost, we were convinced the employees who worked for the City's Sanitation Department would be a key component to the program's success and a very valuable asset. After a number of weeks providing service to the City and 90% retention of the Sanitation Department employees, our convictions were validated. Secondly, we were convinced that the recipe for success should include the utilization of proper equipment and routing techniques. Therefore, SIWS has invested close to one million dollars to purchase new equipment to match the uniqueness of New Albany.
SIWS wants to be a partner with New Albany for many years to come and we will work hard to be a good steward and citizen of the community. We realize there will be new and unusual challenges in the future that will need to be resolved. We promise to address these challenges head on and in quick fashion to provide solutions in a timely manner. As many of you have been informed, no changes will be made as to the days of service, materials handled or any other aspect of our waste disposal and/or recycling program without advance notice.
Again, on behalf of all of us at SIWS, we thank you for this opportunity and are looking forward to providing a quality service to you and the City of New Albany.
Sincerely,
Robert Lee
President
