Every autumn for nearly half a century, The Harvest Homecoming festival has celebrated New Albany and delighted visitors of all ages. Today, with 4 to 600,000 visitors and over 100 food booths, craft booths and music events, Harvest Homecoming is one of the largest festivals in Indiana.
As the highly-anticipated festival approaches, The Harvest Homecoming committee is hard at work finalizing yearlong preparations.
Micah Arnold, the Harvest Homecoming President shares what’s new this year. “This is New Albany’s Bicentennial year. Our parade is going to be bigger and better and we’re planning on a lot more floats. I encourage everybody to come down.” Mayor Gahan expresses his excitement for this year’s festival. “It has a huge impact on the local economy, but more importantly, Harvest Homecoming brings the whole community together and celebrates New Albany.” The 2013 Harvest Homecoming Festival runs from October fifth through the thirteenth. Come see LIVE concerts, enjoy FREE kids events, shop for local arts and crafts, indulge in home-cooked specialties, and learn about community organizations as you browse through the many booths. And don’t forget to watch the beautiful hot-air balloon race! A complete event schedule can be found at www.harvesthomecoming.com. We’ll see you at the Harvest Homecoming Festival!
