Capital Projects

The Storm Water Master Plan 2010 listed the Castlewood Detention Basin as the number one project in New Albany. The Castlewood Detention Basin is designed to reduce flooding in the Oakwood / Castlewood subdivision. The basin is 2.6 acres which receives water diverted from University Wood Drive area and releases at a rate the existing storm system can handle. The New Albany City Council appropriated $300,000 to complete this project. Construction started in April 2011 and was completed fall of 2011.

Projects identified in the Storm Water Master Plan 2010 are to be addressed through a $6,000,000 bond proposed by the New Albany Storm Water Board.
